Amazing Quotes

These are some quotes which really inspired me:

Choose again. Pretend that you are enlightened.

Pretend that you are loved by God.

Pretend that you are perfect just the way you are.

Take a deep breath now and PRETEND WHAT IS TRUE.

Then everything will make sense.

When you pretend something that is true, then you immediately become that Truth.

First the energy of God descends upon the Earth, then it pretends whatever it wants to be, then it ascends back to its source. You are God pretending to be whatever you are right now. Do you understand what this means? You have allowed yourself to descend, but by pretending to be less than what you are, you have not ascended back to God.”

–Thomas (Indigo Child)

Carefully watch your THOUGHTS, for they become your WORDS. Manage and watch your WORDS, for they will become your ACTIONS. Consider and judge your ACTIONS, for they have become your HABITS. Acknowledge and watch your HABITS, for they shall become your VALUES. Understand and embrace your VALUES, for they become YOUR DESTINY.”

–Mahatma Gandhi

Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.”

–George Bernard Shaw

Love is much more fundamental than any kind of thinking or believing.

It is the root and basis of who you are, at the most fundamental level.

This means that anything other than love as an expression of your being

is artificial and unnatural and is a result of not knowing who you are.”

–Bill Harris

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams, who looks inside awakes.”

–Carl Gustav Jung

Parent, Child, and Adult

When I read the guide book of success women,  I found that lunch with friend is a must, because it’s one of medias to know the others. To me, lunch with valuable person always makes me grateful, cause I can learn a lot from them.

Talk about parent, child, and adult, one valuable person told me the valuable thing, “Putu, you have to know how to act as a parent, as a child, or as an adult. It’ll work in all situations”.

I thought what she said is correct, 100% correct. But one thing we should know is how to recognize our partner, are they act as a parent or as a child or as an adult, so we can balance them as well. For example, there’s a client who complaining about something. Might be they act as a child, upset, angry, dissatisfy, etc.  If we react as a child too, it wouldn’t solve any problems, so that we have to react as a parent or an adult, try to listen with patience and explain to them that we’ll find out the problem and fix it ASAP.

One other thing she have told me is every single person could be changes as a child, and might be in certatin time they are suffer to be a parent, that’s why we have to know the situation. Real example is in relationship. Before each other act as a parent or a child, both of them should know how to act as an adult, talk as an adult, and knowing each other as an adult.

Those short conversation really inspired me, and I don’t wanna keep it for myself, so I share it to you all – my blog’s readers ^^

Have a good day!!

“Love” is not Lust

love love love

love love love

One suffer in this material world is due to miss of real “love”. Everybody are looking for love but unfortunately they just get frustrated in the lap of pisacira (old witch women) maya’ kota nidra jao maya pisacira kole’ and struggling in what so call love but get loss in lust, because the so call love by people in general is not actually love but lust. They may celebrate for hundred and thousand of years what is call love day “valentine” but if they are neglecting the original object of love which is Madana mohana, Krsna, then “krsna-sunyam kutah suko’sti ” where is the happiness for one without Krsna. “tasmin sukah kuto’pi nasti” there is no question of happiness for them. They may experience some short kind of pleasure but that is not the actual happiness that people are looking for. That pleasure is non other but the absence of the upcoming distress that waiting for them to come. Practically speaking that is not actually happiness but the time distance between one distress with the other one. Real happiness is that where one will never get into another distress again and it can’t be obtained by any material arrangement. The real happiness can be obtained by the living entities if they come to the point of their real position and perform the occupational duty according to that position. Then they will obtain what is call “suka” or happiness.

What is the occupational duty of the human beings then? This question certainly will be raised by an intelligent man. Only fools or animal-like huma will take no consideration on this point. But if one is human being, real human being, then for sure they will take it under their contemplation and try to find it out.

The answer is right there in Srimad bhagavatam, and it is stated very clearly that what actually the occupational duty of human being is. Is it to work day and night till we forgot even to eat and take care of the body? Or is it to protect the country from the attack of the enemies? Or to collect as much as stool in the street as the dog and hog did? Or My occupational duty is nothing but just sleep, eat and be marry for I am the king of this kingdom or boss in this office so I need not to do any work or perform any other duty.

NO!!!, not any of them but

sa vai pumsäm paro dharmo

yato bhaktir adhoksaje

ahaituky apratihatä

yayätmä suprasidati

The supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self. (SBhg, 1.2.6)

That is the original or the real occupational duty or dharma of all human. Discussing about dharma, we should also understand that as long as we are here in this material world, there are two levels or two kinds of dharma that we have to follow. Both of them are eternal dharma for the conditioned living entity. They are always going hand in hand and can never be separated. The two are varnasrama dharma and bhagavat-dharma. Varnasrama dharma or more specifically daivi varnasrama dharma is deals with both gross and the subtle bodies. And bhagavat-dharma is deal with the soul or atma and paramatma ( supersoul) or God and their relationship.

Being influenced by the three modes of material nature, the living entities in general in this material world are not capable to directly come to the state of practicing pure bhagavat-dharma which is completely transcendental and far beyond our material perception. Srila Rupa Gosvami has given us what is that actually bhagavat dharma or bhakti yoga.

anyäbhiläñitä-çünyaà

jïäna-karmädy-anävåtam

änukülyena kåñëänu-

çélanaà bhaktir uttamä

“When first-class devotional service develops, one must be devoid of all material desires, knowledge obtained by monistic philosophy, and fruitive action. The devotee must constantly serve Kåñëa favorably, as Kåñëa desires.’(Bhakti-rasämåta-sindhu 1.1.11)

“anya-abhiläñitä-çünyam”– without desires other than those for the service of Lord Kåñëa, or without material desires (such as those for meat-eating, illicit sex, gambling and addiction to intoxicants. But most of the living entities in this world, including our present devotees are getting difficulties with this one thing, then how are we going to go further like jnana sunya, karma sunya etc? so what to speak of prema. So considering such condition, in order to come to that state, mean prema state, we have to follow the rules and regulation given in the sastra. Because the tendency of the conditioned living entities in this material world are independent, it will be difficult for them to follow any rules that given in the scripture, and they are like to do things as they wish. So unless there is some system to regulate one’s life, and perform his activities according to that system, then there will be no question for them to get into pure devotional service. So, that very system where one will get the training to regulate their life is the Vedic system of society which is called varnasrama system or daivi varnasrama dharma system.

In this system of varnasrama, one will be train and help by the society around him to regulate and to control one’s act. In this way one will gradually come to the state of satvaguna or at least act under the direction of those who are already in the mode of goodness or satva guna even though they may still in the two lower modes. Once one comes to this level then this will be a stepping stone for a person to begin his devotional service and continue an uninterrupted devotion and gradually will come to the state of visuddha satva, pure goodness. In this mode only one will actually started pure bhagavat dharma or pure bhakti. Otherwise one may try to so call perform devotion but if one ignore this process to regulate their life, then 90% chance for him will not be able to continue his devotion. In other word person will find so many obstacle and it can ruin one’s spiritual life.

So as Srila Prabhupada has mentions, the varnasrama dharma and bhagavat dharma are going hand in hand and one without the other has no meaning. It is mean that if we just doing varnasrama dharma and ignore the bhagavat dharma, then we are loss, or just like a mad man, who have no idea of who he is and where he want to go? That he will not know. If we are just doing bhagavat dharma in our present condition where we are not capable yet to do so, then after some extent we will be frustrated. That is why many people are in the beginning are favorable to spiritual life but later on against it. Or we may still remain but we will make no progress and remain as it is. Bhagavad-gita as it is, is very good but remains as it is in the clutches of material energy is not at all desired by a sane man. Therefore if one is longing for real happiness, one must follow this instruction given in Srimad Bhagavatam, that one should perform dharma in relationship to the lord, Adhoksaja or Sri Krsna. Otherwise, if a person just wanted to remain to live as the dog, hog or the worm did in getting pleasure in the stool or in other form of various sense gratification, then they need not to know or doing all this dharma. Otherwise they have to know these things. Not only to know but to understand it and realize it and put it into practice, then there will be perfection.

The knowledge is not enough just by knowing them but it should be put into practice. These are the traditional system of study in guru kula. There are five process to learn both spiritual ( para vidya) and material knowledge ( apara vidya). First they have to hear from some body, from a guru, hearing with great attention, with humble mood and at the same time he must rendered service to the teacher. And by such process of hearing one knows that the thing is exist. That knowing is the second process. Then third, they should contemplate on it, hearing again and again and by daily experience of what he has heard. Through these the understanding will come. This understanding is falls into the third process. Then the fourth process is one should realize that knowledge. Realizing is means when one is having deep understanding of that knowledge. In another word the realization is an understanding but here one is deeply enter into that knowledge. The last one is the most important process, which is to put the knowledge into practice. Practice means to show that we are really love god, Krsna, not only in the mouth but also by action and in the hearth. For example, we hear krsna’s instruction in the bhagavad gita, and if we really love Him then we should full heartedly follow His instruction. That is “LOVE”. In this way of utilizing love, one will actually obtain the actual value of the real education which is self realization. Otherwise, if the word love is interpreted in another ways, just to gratify one’s senses unnecessarily which is due to lust, then it will give a contrary result.

“LOVE” is just the abbreviation of Lost Of Value Education, both material and spiritual education.

I have my friend in my junior high school who was mad after a girl, our classmate. The only thing he did every day was writing letter to her, call her etc and get so absorbs into it. The time of exam is coming and he is fail in his exam because of having not enough time to study but have plenty of time for her. This the result of LUST.

Another story, one girl, very nice girl, but come to the embrace of one guy in the school for she is actually mad after this handsome boy. Too much association and too close associate with him, just 3 month before the final exam she got pregnant and lost all things for she have to get marriage. This is the second result of LUST, and there are many more if we dig I the daily newspaper. So this is just an example in modern material education which is of course the way of it’s s set up is just to make one lose the real value of education. No body teaches us about who we are in that modern system then how we will be happy if we don’t know who we are? And then the effect to this so call love to the spiritual education, we need not to talk about it so much. It is very clear, as stated in Bhagavad- Gita chapter 16 verse 21 as follows,

tri-vidham narakasyedam

dväram näsanam ätmanah

kämah krodhas tathä lobhas

tasmäd etat trayam tyajet

There are three gates leading to this hell—lust, anger and greed. Every sane man should give these up, for they lead to the degradation of the soul.

Hell, hell is not only revering to the naraka loka but also all this material world is practically non other than hell. So by lust one for sure will take birth in this material world again and again. Punar api jananam punar api maranam, punar api janani jatharam iha samsare bahu dusta are…, there will be no self realization as long as there is lust. Only suffering will be there again and again.

So if we perform devotional service to the Lord with love and devotion ( bhagavat dharma) and at the same time as we are in the material world, we perform our occupational duty according to the system of varnasrama dharma, then as Krsna says. “Na samsayah”, there is no doubt that we will attain the blissful of life in this life and in the next. This blissful of life is hanker by every body in every species of live.

Little girl sat alone on the silent corner
She wept for the life
She wanna said something but she’s alone
Cause they left her alone

See wiped the tears and opened the eyes
Ant walked around her, danced with their beautiful back
She remembered the memories of ant’s family
She started to smile
She stood up and ran… ran away
But silent lake hold her,
She looked around, breathed, and yelled “I can survive alone!!!”

She realized the world is so wonderful
Amazing place to enjoy
There so many things made her alive
No matter where they left her
She would live by herself, by her ways

Disunity always made her upset
Disunity made her feeling lost
She hated disunity
But she knew that she had to face it
Cause it’s part of her destiny

Met the Little Harris

I’ve read so many books from which I knew human characteristics and how the nature take part in the human life.

Last Sunday (September 4th, 2008) there was celebration in the Gunung Salak temple, as usual I went there. But there’re some things that made me feel grateful even we got problem with the car (totally unpredictable matters). When we suffered with the car, fortunately there’re two kids (Sandi and Akbar ) came to us and offered some helps, and it’s absolutely good to us. They are funny young boys, independent, quite shy even they look like street gangster, and friendly. So that, we really really enjoyed the conversation with them.

I’ve asked Akbar to bargain for my banana (consider he is a native person there – Bogor), but he didn’t know how to bargain (I bought banana on the way to the mal), but never mind.

Regardless those two kids, I met another attractive little kid whose name Harris Rosen – 3 or 4 years old (originally from India). His family stay near the Gunung Salak temple since a couple of years ago, he is the third child. From the first sight I feel something different with him, something special inside this little boy, yes… really special. From outside like another kids, he’s playing with his dog – Blacky – which looks similar with Luna (my lovely dog), then helped his mother in the shop – they have small shop for the temple’s visitor. By the way, his house exactly beside the first entrance of Gunung Salak temple (“gapura” near the bridge).

Harris a little bit different with his brothers, his mom told me that he love to study and helped her to sell snack when visitors came to the temple or serviced the buyer when they bought something. This little kids have already known how to gave change or explain the goods, or talk to the buyer. He did all those things base on his inisitif. Once upon he came to me and showed his note book and asked me how to write number or words. And, he was really really exciting when I told him the way to drawing his dog, and he can understand me even sometime his thought insynch with his little finger.

Anyway, at the moment I’ve thought about his future, I wish I meet him again, teach him again (more than just write a word or draw a picture), talk with him again, see his bright eyes again, hug him again, saw him playing with the dog again, but not in the same place anymore.  Honestly, I feel grateful I’ve met this little boy!

Coffee Crazy with Starbucks

“Coffee Crazy”, that’s the title of social club I was booked in Wall Street Institute. Then, I saw pamphlets in the rest room, in the customer office which talked about “coffee party with Starbucks”. Firstly, I didn’t realize that the social club I wanna join is that party till the customer officer told me. The point is tonight I enjoyed three kind of coffees at the same time. So nice…. really really made me crazy…. ^-^

Talked about Starbucks, I thought it’s not a strange name because they have branches in all over the world. At this moment I wanna share some knowledge about coffee, especially Starbucks Coffee.

Same with tea, to find out the great taste of coffee, we have to know how to choose the qualified beans, time of roast, the way of brewing, the temperature, the quality of water, etc. So, there are seven pillars of coffee brewing wisdom:

1. Never boil coffee. It should be brewed between 90˚ C and 96˚ C
2. Do not reheat coffee. Make it fresh each time you serve it, and make only as    much as you plan to drink. Coffee holds its flavour best at 86˚ C
3. Use fresh water. Water is 98% of every cup; consider using a water filter or bottled water if your water taste peculiar
4. Do not reuse grounds. It’s unpleasant bitter components of the coffee
5. Use the correct grind for your coffeemaker. For drip brewers, the appropriate grind should allow the coffee to finish dripping in several minute
6. For the best result, Starbucks recommended using 10 g of ground coffee for each 180mL of water. Keep these proportions consistent. To dilute your coffee’s strength, simply add hot water brewing
7. Coffee can be kept warm over a burner for only about 20 minutes before the flavour becomes unpleasant. An air pot or vacuum server will keep coffee hot and delicious for much longer periods of time

While social club, they gave us three kind of coffees — Caffȇ Latte, Breakfast Blend, Espresso Shot. All of them have difference taste,  Caffȇ Latte mostly sweet, Breakfast Blend is bitter with higher caffeine, Espresso Shot is the strongest one but a little bit sour. From the presentation I found that longer we roast the coffee, the caffeine will be decreased — no wonder people at my home can drink more than five glasses in a day(we have never used cup), cause they roasted coffee beans for a couple of hours until it looked black and dry.

Talked about taste, every species of coffee has their own special taste. When I compared Starbucks, Mister Bean, Coffee Bean, and some of Indonesian product, all of them are nice, but their unique taste make them have fanatic fans. For example the Balinese Coffee which one of them is produced by my home town, it’s an original black coffee and strong (at least enough to wake you up along the night), the taste totally different with all those cafe’s product.

I’m so glad at these past few years some of business men started to introduce Indonesian Coffee to the international, as we know that Indonesia has a good quality of coffee. I do believe we can compete with other countries.

Frankly, since years ago, I wanna stop to drink coffee, but sometimes I really need it, especially while rush on deadline. It really help me. So, to balance my metabolism I have to drink water a lot – before breakfast drink some glasses of water, after breakfast drink coffee, before lunch drink water again, after lunch juice time, then at evening is tea break, after that water and water…. ^^

Anyway, at the party Starbucks also gave us a small package of Espresso Shot (coffee powder) as a gift, beside all the Starbucks’ brochures — it’s good for me, at least I needn’t buy coffee for two weeks ^^

Ride for You

Whatever in my mind, whatever I wanna say right now, only this ::

Lately, I’ve been tryna fight whatever’s pulling us under
it’s got a hold and really making me wonder
what it takes to get through
I gotta stick with you, my baby
Baby tell me:
Maybe I’m foolishly overreacting
But being without you I can’t imagine
It’s just to close to the heart and
And I won’t stand it if were broken apart

[Chorus – Group]
Do you hear me?
Baby ya gotta believe in the things that make you & me win together
Don’t you throw in the towel
I’m keeping my promise to you I got ya back now
When the chips are down
It seems like it’s so hard for you to move ahead
Just know that I am by your side
There aint no ifs, buts, or maybes,
I’m gonna stay down and ride for you baby

We’ve been cutting it close with the backwards & forwards
It’s rocking the boat; we gotta get control of this
Let’s take it back to three years ago
When you said that we could make it through whatever, ever
And to me it sounded like you meant forever, ever
Leaving was not an option, baby, never, never
Now don’t you believe in a love that’s worth a fight
In you is everything that I’m missing
So give us a chance

[Chorus]

Don’t you dare tell me we gotta let it go…
We been on top for too long just to let it go under
I don’t wanna hear that
I just can’t hear that
and know
Wherever you wanna take me
I’ll go
I been with you for too long to start over with another
I know that you hear me
Just tell me you hear me

[Chorus]
